READ TRIBUTES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well it has been a year since my pops passed so many poeple have shown me and my family so much support through this page i would like to thank each and every one of you for helping keep my grandads memory going strong our ove and thoughts are with you all xxxxxxxxxxxx



cyril was one of eight children he was married to his wife eileen for over fifty years they had eight children of their own they had over twenty grandchildren and great grandchildren
cyril had C.O.P.D which is a lung disease

cyril was my grandad not that we called him that often, it was always pops he was our pops!!!!!
My pops was one in a million i know every body says that but he really was i am not saying that he was perfect because nobodys perfect !!
He could be the most miserable sod that you would ever meet at times but he was funny with it. He was always giving his grandchildren nicknames, he loved to go to the pub and see his mates like he did the night he died. He liked a little flutter on the horses he gave up betting on the dogs after a night at the dog track and the dog he backed died at the finish line he never went back after that hahaha
There is 50 years age gap between him and myself but we always made time to go to bingo together every week god i miss my nights in the bingo hall with him!! He was a very much loved man by his friends as well as his family his funeral was attended by over 200 people not bad for a man that rarely went outside of wandsworth. He was a fulham fan all his life that has rubbed off on to some of us now that he has gone i have even had a fulham tattoo with pops under neath as my tribute to him! on special occasions like fathers day and the day of his funeral we realise balloons not just any old balloons f.f.c ones i think he would have liked that. He loved each of his children and grandchildren alike but he wasnt really one for showing his feelings so i am not sure if he actually ever told them those three little words we all want to hear maybe he did one time or another when he was a bit tipsy.
my grandad was quiet an active man right up till six months before he died at which point he started to detiorate he went from a man that got 2 busses a day to a man that couldnt do a thing for himself he didnt want nurses he said that somebody needed them more than him so it was up to us as his family to care for him not that we would have had it any other way we cared for him right till the end!!!
i have great memories of my pops as do all our family of days out when we were little to his little strops
The most vivid memoery that i have i am afraid is the night before he died i had to take him to the hospital i rang my auntie jackie to meet me there (his youngest daughter) after running a few tests they informed us that there was no more that they could do for him and asked us to decide whether we wanted to take him home or to have him admitted we thought it was only right that my nan should be the one to make this descion but she couldnt she said \"it has to be his choice\".
So i had to be the one to tell him that he was dying and that he had roughly between 2 days and 2 weeks his words were short and simple take me home babe
so we did and we fullfilled his last wish of taking him to the pub he didnt drink as he wasnt able to swallow he just went to say goodbye he was there ten minutes and he wanted to go home to bed so took him home and got him comfortable it was ten oclock at night by half past 12 that night he looked at us and said its too much for you girls i am gonna go and within seconds he stopped breathing our pops was gone never to returned. i wil remeber those words till the day i die and am reunited with him so will the other 4 people that was in the room with him i think .
I would just like to be able to say thank you to him for being our pops
